xylometazoline
xylometazoline is a sympathomimetic agent with marked alpha-adrenergic activity, and is intended for use in the nose. It constricts the nasal blood vessels, thereby decongesting the mucosa of the nose and neighbouring regions of the pharynx.
Indications:
• Nasal congestion.
• Acute rhinitis.
Active Ingredient:
Xylometazoline.
Side effects:
• Temporary burning.
• Stinging.
• Dryness in the nose.
• Sneezing may occur.
Cautions:
Patients are advised not to take decongestants for more than seven consecutive days
How to use:
adult in each nostril two or three times a day is all it takes.
Children between 6 and 12 years under adult supervision (all indications): 1 or 2 drops, in each nostril up to 2 times a day.
